View Full Version : can lightwave be used to do this?

Making a building in 3d with front projection texture and using uv surfacebaking to compensate for the angle to make it still look flat and no distortion on the sides? Just don't know how the sequence can be used by the projector since the building uv is almost like an atlas or unwrapped. Maybe a special way to uvmap the building?

Thanks I will take a look. But I think that does it from real to 3d.
These videos show how to project video on nonflat surface in real life but with no distortion.

I found a very good resource
http://vvvv.org/tiki-index.php?page=How+To+Project+On+3D+Geometry#Proje cting_on_two_sides_of_a_house_with_one_perspective

Don't know how to combine those 2 projectors intro 1 virtual projector yet

option 1 - like in the above videos
option 2 - comp
option 3 - spotlight with texture map (does it work with colors, not sure)
option 4 - there was a shader or such in the surface editor that projected colored polys
option 5 - Mike Green has a plugin that converts an image to a set of colored lights (i think)

I think I know what you want to do. Sounds like a nice technical challenge. Didn't someone make a plugin for LW that would take what a camera "saw" and turn that into a projection?

So why not do this with two cameras, use that resulting texture to shoot out from two light sources. Set up a rig where the cameras are trained on one focal point (if you want to move them you can).

Yes thats what i did. I front project the sequence from center then i had two cams capture that front projection.

yes, that'd work too... http://erikalstad.com/backup/anims.php_files/wink.gif
