well since the dpontīs site has closed down, my explosion preset will do no good on www.presetcentral.com

itīs the explosive 3 preset using dpontīs node texture.
so go and get it if you already have the nodes and before the preset
is gone.

Are you saying that these nodes don't work anymore?

Denis.

It's our fear that you won't be back, Denis, I'm sure, that's fueling his concerns. And I say "ours" in the first part because it's a pretty big concern for our little community.

Denis.

Im saying that the preset wonīt work for people who might be
new to both the preset and to your wonderful nodes, thus they
might not have had a chance to download it, so the preset will simply
not work as it should be without the textures.
so they would end up with a preset not looking as it should.

for all others who already have the node textures it will work.

But why fool anyone..

Yes this is understandable if you published work
and then links are broken, if I fail definitively to
restore this site, I will study a way to archive
them somewhere.

There are several members offering free web space as well...I do believe.

I am one of the fortunate ones who have used and value the work you have done with plugins, Denis. I would welcome your continued contributions, particularly as CORE develops and greater possibilities emerge. There are always a few "bad apples," who I ignore. I have only downloaded from your site in the past and regret the idea that your plugins would no longer be available. Matt's offer of web site design, and hosting by others, sound excellent, and generous. If you are changing directions in life (stuff happens) then consider Open Source, or passing the baton, or negotiate with someone to carry on the legacy. Individual priorities change, but the gift of your work can and should continue. I do not know the circumstances, nor care, but am sure that it would be a loss if some solution was orchestrated. Best to you.

I completely agree, Oliver.
Denis, I've been using your light kit (at the very least) on pretty much everything I've done for a while now. Thank you so much for all the hard work you've put in for the community, it honestly is appreciated by a LOT of people.
I don't have a lot of bandwidth for my website but I'll happily provide a download mirror if it's ever needed.

Denis,

I also use your Light Sets in my daily work. I can't say how much I appreciate them. All of your efforts have benefited the LW community greatly in unmeasurable ways.

Just want you to know - I thank you!!

I don't see the logic in that? Why would you remove a preset that only a few people use from preset central because someones site is offline. No offense but, don't you have something useful to do?

Denis

Much appreciation for your nodes. Thank-you, indeed!
I've relied heavily on them in the last couple of months for a particular project.

i do very much hope your nodes become available again.
(I for one am in need of re-downloading, after an accidental deletion a few days ago).

Thanks again

Well..Iīll keep the preset up anyway, since it looks like dpont is working
on getting his site up again, no need to remove the preset for the time beeing.

So to stop being obnoxius, this thread was posted on the 1st April, so
lets call it an aprils fools joke.:jester:
