Need to convert a .wmv to .mov or .avi, and want to do it for free on a Mac. *Suggestions...?

Maybe something through google...

Try Flip4mac

http://www.telestream.net/flip4mac-wmv/overview.htm

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/flip4macwindowsmediacomponentsforquicktime.html

From memory the free trial will convert .wmv to .mov. To export mov to wmv costs a bit more.

Not sure if you're pointing to a specific solution there, or just recommending I search on Google for the answer. I already did a lot of digging and everything I saw was either not free, had a trial version that was free but generated a watermark, or I couldn't get it to work.

I had looked at Flip4Mac already, but the $29 version is required to convert .wmv files to .mov.

Perhaps there is no free solution for this.

Too bad, the search stated free converters. I wish I knew more about Macs, sorry.

MPEG Streamclip converts many formats for free.

Free VLC Media Player will also do all kinds of conversions. I have never used the Mac version, buty have used the PC version to convert quite a few...

Found this:

Don't know if it works, as I haven't tried it.
