Hi there,
I was playing around with the awesome Part Move node that comes with the DP_Kit. Here are 2 animations I came up with.

http://www.florianvonbehr.de/tmp/Logo_Cubes_twister_v004.mov
http://www.florianvonbehr.de/tmp/Logo_Cubes_Vortex_v005.mov

2 Bounce interpolated QMC GI, no cache, LW motionblur, AO via ShaderMeister.

Now its time to see what else can be done with it.

C&C welcome!

Cheers, Florian

nice test work... interesting potential. Is it a difficult plugin to work with? ( i have no experience with it )

Very cool, have fun =)
Insignet, just look around for some threads, and you will probably find scene files to play with.

Whoaaaa,
That was rather unique! Mind breaking it down for us?

Hi guys,
thanks for all the comments. The setup is actually pretty simple. The first animation uses the distance to a null to drive a gradient for the twisting and scaling. Another null that moves across is driving the move.

The second animation uses a setup I found on this forum. It blends the postition of the cubes between the original state and a particle system.

I attached screenshots of both node setups.

It looks really nice, but whenever I download any of the files from the new site, when I open the .zip, I get an error about an unexpected end of archive, and I can't extract anything from it.

Anyone else having this problem?

I emailed Denis about it, because it happens with the other files I downloaded (both x32 and x64) as well, so maybe he can resolve the problem or something.

I just downloaded Node Item Motion 32 and 64 and the archives where just fine. I used Chrome, Win 7 64 and WinRAR.

Hmm, I tried Chrome as well as FireFox and Opera. I (well, WinRAR) just can't open the archives :(

But how do you make all those parts in the first place?

Really slick, I always found things like that quite long-winded in Lightwave but I'm tempted to have a look into the DP kit now

Sorry for asking before checking the docs:
For those others who wonder - these parts are not LW parts, but simply connected polys. Which makes it a lot easier to work with than having to create LW parts.

Be sure that you have newer WinRar application. I remember when they switched from v 3.5 to 3.6 lot of stuff in 3.5 was looking "corrupted" since 3.6 had some different/better algorithm so update was really needed for older versions to stay usable.

Thanks Lewis, I just downloaded the newest WinRAR (3.93), but it still doesn't work. It keeps telling me the archive is corrupt....*EDIT* well, not corrupt, but has an unexpected end of archive *EDIT*

Nice movies.. yeah that node is quite cool... would be much fun to play with it a bit and see what can be done.. short on time though. Did use it for some stuff though, worked great. (doing that manually... yikes)

Im using a PC (WinXP), when I download some of the files with IE8 I get the error you mention but if I download the files with Firefox they open (using winzip in both instances). Strange uh!

Hmm... Just reinstalled FireFox and it worked. Hm.

But good, now I can use Denis' nodes...Yay :)

whoa. this is the sort of thing I'd like to do more /w nodes. reminds me of C4D mograph module.

The scary thing is that the node tree all but overwhelms me. I gotta get learnin, but the math gives me pause.

MoGraph is still much more powerful to be honest but I did get my inspiration from playing with it.

What math? :D
You just need to read the node flow from beginning to end. It is not as complicated as it looks.

its the perception of complexity that stops many people cold. ha.
