View Full Version : lighting through a closed door

Im looking for the best way to stream light through a closed door into an unlit room.. So that you can 'just' see the light coming in through the cracks surrounding the actual door..
Im struggling with spotlights as it seems i have to make the gap between the door and frame unrealistically huge to allow any light through.
Thanks for all help

use a Area light with a falloff.

Yep, use an Area Light, a Linear Light or a luminous polygon.

For behaviour akin to real physics you're best to use an Area or Linear light with Inverse^2 falloff.
