Anyone else see a problem with the following?

Army faces Afghan gag for election

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/onthefrontline/7393809/Army-faces-Afghan-gag-for-election.html

“It’s a truth blackout. Nothing, especially the truth, is to stand in the way in Brown’s election. Our armed forces can fight and die, but not write or speak. Any critics of the Government are to be banned from having any contact with the press. This is the grotesque endgame of New Labour. They want to bury bad news and bury the truth.”

Nice to live in a free society isn't it.

That's they way it is. Soldiers are instruments. They take orders, they don't think about how to make the order better. That's why I couldn't be in the military, I'd question and ponder too much.

If you want to be free to what you want, then don't shackle yourself to some worldly mechanism. Joining the military in both the UK and the US is a choice, I almost chose the Air Force, sometime I still wish I had.

And that would have given you more material for modeling cool planes and rockets and stuff.

There. This thread is now LW topical.

Carry on.

Totally!

"Right after putting the blame on the Army for the lack of proper
equipment that's led to so many deaths in the Middle East,

Gordon Brown went to see the Army in the Middle East...

every sapper with sand in his boots was coughing up his
reconstituted meatlike meal at the nerve of that pre election
move...

Brown couldn't of been more mistrusted if he was a Roadside
Bomb."

Yeah I read that the other day, but it's not like he's going to get away with it now. We might not live in a free country, but at least our press act like a pack of rabid terriers :D Long live investigative journalism! :)

Blummin' outrageous if you ask me.

"SAS soldiers 'would be alive' if they had the right equipment"

If Brown knocks on any doors around here he'll need that flack-jacket......

Well it's always good to know he's raised a generation of trained killers who hate him :D
