View Full Version : LW: too many versions?

Now we have three versions of LW: 9.6 plus the beta 9.6.1 (isn't it finished testing?), LW Hardcore and Core. I was asking me if it wasn't better to unify all the version (apart Core taht is an all new program) of LW to speed up its development.
Thanks for your useful answers and bye.

How would that work then?

9.6.1 is the replacement for 9.6 it just hasn't passed beta testing yet.

LW Hardcore is 9.6.1 (as far as I know) but integrates with CORE because CORE isn't a standalone application yet and still requires Lightwave's features.

So the three non-released beta versions are all being developed together, 9.6.1 is part of LWHC which is part of CORE v.1...they are unified

They have. It's called CORE and eventually it wil be the only Lightwave application there is. Lightwave HC and 9.6 will only be around as long as they're needed.

current versions of lightwave:

lightwave 9.6
3d arsenal using lightwave 7.5

all others are beta's and so not production worthy or for sale on the newtek store as such...lightwave 10 is beta

Thank you i've understood.
Who does know at what stage is 9.6.1 beta testing?
Is it only a bug fix of 9.6? I understood it reading NT announcements.
