View Full Version : Scaling messes up my model

I made this model in 3D-Coat then exported to LightWave. For some reason it comes out really huge (like almost 4000' across!) but it looks great. When I scale it down to size the mesh gets a bit messed up. Any ideas for avoiding this?

Have you tried using the absolute size tool or possibly tried scaling it down in a few jumps as compared to one huge scale? You don't have any falloffs by mistake on the scale do you?

Yeah it's funny how the center of the tire looks to be the most affected part.
What about in Layout: scale it down, save an endomorph and save all objects. Then in Modeler: apply the morph?

Good Luck

Thanks, while I was trying your suggestions I found the problem. Symmetry was on. It shouldn't be a problem, but apparently that's what messed it up.

For example i normally use Selection Action Center Mode. If Symmetry is ON and my object is perfectly centered, the Action Center will be in the center of the +X mesh not in the center of the whole X axis mesh (normally in X=0)

Great it got sorted

I see, yes I also use Selection (or Mouse) for the Action Center most of the time. This time I was using Selection.
