Hi there,

O.k., so I finally made the 10K as well :D
82310

We at db&w decided that this requires some sort of celebration.

Here's the deal:

The 1st and the 10th person to write on the wall of our page on facebook will receive a free exrTrader and shaderMeister bundle each, just for the heck of it.

Our page on facebook is: http://www.facebook.com/dbw.finest.plugins

Edit:
Just to make it clear: We want wall posts, not comments! (since we can actually count the posts on the wall).

See you there!

Cheers,
Mike

So you're leaving the 1st spot open? That's generous of you!

As a side note: You need to have a facebook account and become a fan of the page to be able to post on the well.

As for the rules: We just made them up on the spot, so please excuse any potential loopholes and the lack of legalese.

Cheers,
Mike

No, gorilla marketing (or so I've been told ;) ).

Hey, you can always delete it afterwards (or stick around and waste even more time than on the forums...)

Mike

I'd feel dirty to register to any of those kind of sites ;)

That's ok though. I don't render anything for my work, so the occasional rendering I do is just for fun (like for example speed modelling challendges). I've read a lot of good posts about the plugins so of course I've been curious, but I'm sure someone else can make alot better use of them than if they collect dust on my HD. :)

Haha, that's true :D

It is, 3.9 per day for almost exactly 7 years... (and not all of them as short as this one) *phew*

Oh, we don't want any people who feel dirty as fans on our page :D

Sorry though. It was just the first thing we cam up with a few minutes ago.

Mike

P.S. I'm actually on two networks like that, and I do like facebook for some reason.

Wow, now that is just around the corner. I used to have the studio at Reinsburgstraße 97, and we live just around the corner (directly at the upper entrance to the Schwabstraße subway station).

You can still create one, we're at post #6 at the moment :D

Congrats Mike!

Since I'm also a owner of both those (and I would never reg on FaceBook), I'm out of the loop, so to speak. :D Nevertheless, it is very generous of DB&W to offer these two masterpieces freely. A very nice gesture!!!

Thanks. Hey, it was just a very spontaneous ideas. Management (Dagmar) and development (me) just had to quickly suss out the rules.

We had a blast and we hope everybody who joined in had a bit of fun as well. We also have a winner by now - but that shouldn't stop anybody from hooking up to our facebook page ;)

I was with family all the time, so no german speaking. Loved the way the tall forest and the city blend, the castles/palaces in the middle of the forest, the christmas fair... You're lucky, cold, but lucky ;)

db&w HQ (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Seyfferstra%C3%9Fe+34,+70197+Stuttgart,+Deutschl and&sll=48.768289,9.152137&sspn=0.001619,0.00284&g=Reinsburgstra%C3%9Fe,+Stuttgart-West+Stuttgart,+Baden-W%C3%BCrttemberg,+Germany&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Seyfferstra%C3%9Fe+34,+Stuttgart-West+70197+Stuttgart,+Baden-W%C3%BCrttemberg,+Germany&ll=48.770003,9.155254&spn=0.000405,0.00071&t=h&z=21) - right underneath that roof. Just a few 100m away from where you were.
The city itself is actually quite nice, you're right. I do think it's way to cold as well though (I'm a 30°C+ person).
I'm afraid I've only been to Lisboa in Portugal ages ago (in February). I love the city, love the language and certainly love the food though.

Wow, our #1 winner Michael E. already has a copy of exrTrader, so he's offering it to a runner up.

We've decided that the 20th post will receive a free copy of exrTrader then.

Thanks Michael!

Cheers,
Mike - who's - nonetheless - going to get some sleep now.

My pleasure - it seemed like a total waste of a great plugin that I should be sitting with 2 licenses of exrTrader. It could surely benefit someone else since exrTrader is awesome.

Once again thanks! (I usually never win anything so I'm in a great mood now) :D

Hehe, we really had a great time here as well, especially considering that the whole thing wasn't really planned :)

But, hey, if I wouldn't enjoy this community I wouldn't have posted that many times - see, it goes both ways :D

Haven't spent that much time on Facebook lately, and it seems it got some sort of overhaul.

Anyway, cheers, and here's to another 10000 posts of your amazing help to the community.

Cool idea Mike,

I'll be honest, there's so many groups and friends on there to keep track of that I forget to keep up with most of them...so, from a marketing POV, it has totally worked. I've had a good look through everything on the FB page and learned a little more about what you're working on. I've also managed to put names and faces to several more members on here.

I'm Steve Bjorck BTW ;)

Hm, o.k., so the next person writing on the wall would get a free exrTrader - the offer still stands (we could also swap it for a shaderMeister license).

Hey, if nobody wants it, I'll take it ;)

Mike

If you're Petter, you win. Yes :D

(just send your registration data to Dagmar and she'll handle it - and I suppose you can pick between shaderMeister or exrTrader).

You'll like V1.5 with Fusion then. I've recently been testing the heck out of a new feature that writes the DoD into the exr file, and it can really make Fusion (and Nuke) fly if you render a scene in a lot of passes.

Mike

Cool, always good to get rid of the extra overhead of the Auto Set Domain tool.

Yup. I have to thank Joe Laffey from the Fusion mailing list for the suggestion.

Well, if the current beta (released today) shows no issues the it should be out soon.

Cheers,
Mike
