I created this engine and everything in it using sub patches, even the nuts and bolts.
I would like to hear your comment.

Very nice

if you will render that close I would knife or bandsaw the bottom (towards the center) of those radiator looking thinggies, you can see polygon shapes there.

Oh yes, I noticed that now. Thanks for pointing that out.

Looks cool, is it modeled on anything in particular?

Just in case you plan to also animate it, a radial conrod looks like this:

Very interesting, the radial conrod. I have never seen it. I have seen animation of radial engine though, it's very fascinating how the pistons are synced.
This engine is a preparation of my concept 60's prop plane.
I hope I have made some progress comparing to last year. At least I'm not hearing about "lemon squeezers" anymore. Not that I mind constructive feedback!

Yes it is pretty amazing. It's the same principle though as any other piston set up.

I was thinking the individual radiators there are going to make it hard to fit the single piece exhaust header and the inlet pipes. OK, so it's fuel injected but in the 60's maybe turbo props rather than radial pistons?

To animate think of a glass with many hands on a Ouija board:)
