View Full Version : Widescreen not showing

I am trying to view a widescreen footage in layout. Although when I render it does not show the bars that widescreen usually has. I dont see any bars in open GL either. I belive I have the correct settings in the camera proporties.

The widescreen format you've chosen stretches the image to fill the frame; the image is squashed back down later on in D1 broadcast editing, so you won't see it in lw. Change the Aspect from 1.2 to 1 if you want to see it. If this is not for broadcast tv then you don't need it at 1.2 anyway.

One other thing

When I do a render, I notice the image is squished when its in widescreen settings. Is there a way to correct this? I want to be able to check the textures of the object when im compositing.

That's the 1.2 aspect ratio setting I mentioned, set it to 1.

Setting the aspect ratio to 1 unstretches the 3d objects, but how do I unstretch the background image?

It's best if your footage is aspect ratio 1 when you bring it in. You can't change that separately from the 3d in the viewport, you'll have resize the image in a 2d program or put it on a polygon and re-size it.
