I am importing an object saved out from Daz3D.

When I render it, it appears inverted to other objects wrt to the light.

I trolled through the surface section messing with things, lights, and started reading a chapter on UV projection mapping to see if that wast the problem.

The player that is bright, the spotlight is behind him, and dark, infront.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
JM

Diffuse setting in surface maybe?

Any light set to ignore the model?

Diffuse all set to 100.

I checked the ignore thing again and again, but then realized it was inverting it. Tried putting the light behind and it's fine...

Could this be something to do with UV/Vertex mapping?

Are the polys flipped? Daz might make the polys flipped and even double sided, so it may look normal otherwise but not read the light properly.

Every surface had a "Vertex Normal Map"

I don't know what that is yet, but my guy was definitely not happy about them.

I removed all the Vertex Normal Maps and it renders correctly.

Weee!
