Does anyone know if there is a plugin about for creating Cube UV map projections?

you mean instead of marking seams and unfolding it as an atlas map?

Atlas maps don't really unfold things how I wanted, because I had some geometry ontop of other geometry and wanted this as part of the projection to aid painting. I've settled for planar projections on those sections I wanted paint over. Cheers

there's an integrated plugin called texture guide or something like that

i use it all the time. Just select your needed projection, set params and hit Make UV.
Then you can tweak a vidget to adjust pos and size of UV projection in realtime.
Best thing is you can transform a common projection in an UV automatically. I.e, if you have a cubic projection in color map, with custom size, rot, pos and so on, you can get an equivalent UV with one click.
At least in theory since in 9.6 this feature causes an instant crash. Hope CORE will have similar tools.

Is there any other way? I am on 9.6/HC x64 bit LW. :(

Another way is hoping NT reads this and implements it into LWHC asap (hint) ;)
