View Full Version : does X-Dof work in win7-64 for LW 9.6?

I'm tempted to purchase X-Dof.

The developer has not tested it on Win7-64, put said :

"X-Dof works in XP 64bit, and certainly will in win7 XP compatibility mode."

However, I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling about 'compatibility mode'.

1. Any one using X-Dof with 9.6 on Win7-64?

2. Now that LW has added more bells and whistles in the 5 years since X-Dof was last modified for LW (and computer speed has increased a bit), does X-Dof still provide useful 'coolness' to make it a worthy purchase?

Using operating system functions is quite unusual thing for 3rd party plug-in. I doubt post-processing X-Dof is doing so. From 200+ plug-ins that I have wrote, I can mention maybe 5 or less that are using OS functions directly, doing things that are not possible to do using LWSDK and/or C/C++ standard linkable libraries, such as scanning directory by f.e. TrueLoad..

IMHO, X-Dof for 99% is working in Windows v7.
