Developed over past 3 weeks!?

Newtek should include both this guy and his app into core!

holy crap, just tested it. It builds geometry as you sculpt and doesn't meld when it comes into contact with other parts which is good. This looks very promising.

this looks really nice, and It seems really fast in progress for only a few weeks. But you should keep in mind the following sentence:

The first 90% of a project takes 90% of the time and the last 10% takes the another 200%

hope you understand what I mean :)

so true , that's why you need to add input to this app , its looking good , I wonder what 3DC users think ? Javis you there ?

It is not comparable to 3DC, Mudbox and Zbrush, but i'd be more than happy to have only these features in Core.

If a single man can make it in C in 3 weeks, NT can do too!

Btw, i like the way it "relax" geometry when you pull the stuff out of sculpt, like horns and such.

Just tried the beta of this app and blown away by how fast it was to sculpt a head, really really impressed.

A big thank you for the link must remember to post on app builders youtube clips how good it is.

Impressive!

I gues the developer did a lot of study and preparation before he started writing this app. 3 weeks from scratch is impossible. Nice job anyhow!

Also it can save in obj format that just slides straight into modeler and layout so even better :)

Indeed I am. :)

I think it's a really cool application. I really like it. Nice and easy to use, very tidy interface, and you can get great looking results without having to fight with or think about the interface.

I remember a few years ago when I was using ZB alot, I didn't understand why they didn't have some kind of adaptive mesh subdivisions/tessellation on the sculpture while you work. Even 3DC doesn't have something like this for mesh sculpting, though it does have the very powerful (and IMHO, way easy to sculpt with) voxels. So they are pretty similar in this regard for the user, on not having to deal with low polygon areas while sculpting.

It's a nice tool, and I hope to see him develop it further! It will make a nice addition to my toolset, that's for certain.

though, this one doesn't meld together when it comes in contact which makes a difference

It would be nice to see it perform with some alphas with brushes.

Also to have a controllable light in the scene. When you have a large overhang it becomes very shadowed and difficult to see.

I wouldn't mind seeing this built into CORE. If we have another Andrew Shpagin on our hands it could be very interesting.

You know, it seems that a lot of talented programmers come from that neck of the woods, Sweden, Finland etc.

What is it with that? Do they teach programming from an early age or something?

I guess they have more time in the winter. Being fully snowed in and so :)

As the programmer behind Real4D said in an interview in the early nineties: There's only two things you can do in winter: Drink or code ;)

Cheers,

I can think of another :hey: ...gotta keep the body temps up!

It looks like a great app, I think that the interface is just right, not too much clutter.

I heard someone else say that and my first thought was that yes there's not much clutter but it also has very few tools right now. I'm curious to see how he handles clutter as more get added.

I imported an object into this neat program but then realized I had to have it with 3 point polys so I tripled it and it worked just fine. other than that no problems here. though u can bring in an object into sculpti with out trippling them its just gonna be missing allot of polys. that and it only imports objects in the first layer. no layer support yet.

LOL! I can just imagine. The guy has just released a sculpting app that he wrote in three weeks and he gets a letter from @Ubi with "employment opportunity" in the subject. Poor guy must have gotten excited out of his wits!

Nice job! So far, I've only reached the point where I can make a ball into a lumpy ball.

Or a character that could only be played by Ron Perlman.

LOL , That's the exact stage I'm at (",)

It's a nice app ,if that's what I can do in 10 minutes , imagine what it would be in the right hands :)

Does it have multiple undo/redo system? That would be the most hard part of such application to write..

I have used Ctrl+Z for Undo and it works perfectly. According to the docs there are 12 levels of Undo. If there's a Redo I have not found it.

Here I made a little Undo video:

Ye undo is stable and may I say a little bit faster than zb "In my opp" but thats maybe because the UI still nice and clean !

Hire this guy Newtek!

Don't forget about sculpt:

1) preserve the low poly version

2) save Vector maps instead of only displacement maps. Vector have curved displacement information inside.

3)option to KEY the sculpt, so we can create SCULPT ANIMATIONS like in Messiah and Blender ( incredible tool ANIM SCULPT ) , a powerfull tool to control the deforming.
shape.

and again....

how can you see into my eyes like open doors
leading you down into my CORE
where I’ve become so numb without a soul my spirit sleeping somewhere cold until you find it there and lead it back home

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become:)
