Does work quite well here. It is pretty slow on my FX5200 though.
What graphics- card do you use?

well basically it says

"Could not find any compatible Direct3D device..."

well Ithought the Nvidia quadroXGL750 was good ... well maybe I am far... dunno..

remember it says directx 9 compatible card. The shader 2.0 is the language used in the new Nvidia FX series cards and ATI 9800 cards (could be off a # here) Basically all those new $2-400 cards.

So a quadra may not work. I also thought that the pro cards don't have as much Directx capability as the consumer game cards?

I'll just have to miss out on this one. I can't afford a $300 card yet (although Half-life 2 is coming out so it looks really attractive)

I get something like 18FPS in 1024 windowed with my ATi Radeon 9800 Pro on a Athlon XP 2200+

Yeah. I've got a 9800 pro 256 in a 2.6 p4 800 meg fsb and I'm getting about the same. The higher the screen size, the lower the frame rates. At the moment, my screen is also set 1024. When the program opens, it opens in a reduced window of 640 which gives me between about 35 to 50 fps depending on the multisample size and texture. But it's not even the frame rates I really care about. It's being to see my textures, lights, everything in realtime. Workflow would be reduced to fraction of what it is now. Simply beautiful!

so is it just for games.... no for pro stuff, the Nvidia qudro750xgl cannot handle this, so it's more a consumer stuff or what ?

I just noticed that I also had 4x FSAA and 8x Anisotropic FIltering on.

Note: "A video card that supports Vertex Shader 2.0 and Pixel Shader 2.0" and qudro750xgl doesn't have both of them!

i hate to see glow works realtime on directx 9 and corona in lw takes eternity for similar thing!?

i am very interested to see what kind of numbers a fx card and a 9800 can pull off with this

if any user in here can do a some quick testing using default settings @1024x768 with no aa and no af

and driver ver just looking so some numbers to compare

Well, my FX5200 was very slow. I had some 2 or 3 frames a second with these settings.
Got it to work at some 11 frames with lower settings though. Still pretty cool considering how long it usually takes these things to render in software.
I dont think it makes sense to use these things in openGL- preview (not yet).
Even though you can get a card like the FX5200 for some 60 dollars, they are not that widely used yet and as I said they are way to slow to do anything like that at useable framerates.
On the other hand if one was to do some HW- accelerated previe- rendering of some sorts, then even one frame a second might be pretty cool, what do you think?

My 9800 Pro 256 meg gets 20 FPS with no anti_aliasing @ 1024x768.

And between 15 - 18 FPS at 4x anti-aliasing.
