Anyone else but me and my daughter going to be watching out for the geminid meteors tonight. If you have clear skys this evening a glance at the eastern sky area tonight from 8pm onwards may prove very fruitful. Debris from a near earth asteroid colides with the earths atmosphere every year at this time makeing one of the best meteor showers of the year.

Clear skies here and couldn't get more easterly without getting wet so I'll try to remember to look up when I take the dog's out later...I'm usually looking up at the stars anyway on a clear night, the sky is surprisingly clear considering I'm in a dense residential area.

My daughter and mesen saw 5 over a half hour scan but it was cold and got cloudy so we came in again but she has seen her first meteors so that is a bonus :D from Manchester at 9pm they were mostly directly overhead and a touch south and east, well the few we saw were at least.

Maybe it will clear up a little later on. From what I see of the cloud cover on the BBC weather area the cloud base does not look too broad.

I saw one but it clouded over shortly after and poured with rain until late.

Overcast and raining all night. Shame as we have had clear skies at night for the last week apart from last night, typical
