It was a failed missile test, but the video is pretty creepy, if I had seen it I would have thought it was a portal to another dimension opening.

Somebody needs to take that better video and create some nasty looking ship starting to emerge from the black maw that forms after the missile runs out of fuel.

On the other hand I'm sure some of you are thinking you can animate it better than the real thing. lol

It's always nice to know somebody lost a wayward ICBM over your country.

"Look, if you ever launch one of those things for real, can you please do it somewhere NOT near us! And oh yeah! Learn to hit your target!"

Cool. Isnt' the ICBM story exactly what the authorities would release to cover up the truth? ;)

Um, the Daily Mail? Besides who would still be testing missiles over Norway? I can only think of the Mysterons and Capt. Scarlet who the North Atlantic Treaty Organization take very seriously.

..... well of course ..... go straight for the obvious explanations ..... :D

Growing up in Southern California I witnessed many missile tests including one of the rare atmospheric hidrogen bomb tests over the pacific, the image of that red glow has stuck with me all these years.

Damn I'm getting old.

Damn I'm getting old.

Hopefully not stupid as well? That sounds pretty amazing. I'm old enough to have seen the Southern Auroras before atmospheric pollution blanked them out. Equally amazing!

That's bloody odd, I'd be interested to see an explaination of how the blue spiral, white spiral and final black 'hole' were created by a rocket...I can't figure it out.

What rocket? There's a thumping great leg in there being pulled by z particles.

It was venting gasses/liquids while spinning. Fairly simple, really!

Being a rocket scientist myself, I can see exactly what it was. the first stage malfunctioned, started spinning, then the second stage went off, then shut down, leaving the blue helix, That white spiral and the blue helix are actually the unburned fuel and oxidiser spraying out and being back lit by the Sun. The "black hole" occurred when the fuel finally all drained out, and there was no more to be back lit.

But If I had witnessed it first hand, I am sure I would have had a freaked out "they're coming" moment...

actually no, Santa doesnt drink.

the problem is with the reindeer...
you see, since the Chernobyl nuclear disaster the deers have been glowing in the dark and their flying abilities are somewhat disturbed, so that now they can only turn to the left (they have double set of left legs)...
this creates the circular glowing pattern we are so used to see during the december month.

these sightings should become less frequent after 24th december.

Santa does drink , my daughter just got a letter from him , and it says leave cookies and a bottle beer ............can't wait .............eating a full bag of carrot can be sickening though , but i did figure out that if you get my dog to eat them it looks more realistic .........

before my father left us(4) ....he went on the roof and made footsteps and shinnzle ..

I wonder if that might have been some kind of test detonation that didn't quite work, like a cloud seeding experiment.
