Really awesome. Buying the DVD. Looks like the best stuff I've seen since Kaze.

Thanks!

btw NEWTEK should ring this guy up and use him as promotion for LW like all the other companies would do!

Except if you read the making off, he doesn't have a whole lot good to say about LW.

And for that same reason Newtek should talk to him.

The main character reminded me a bit of Earthworm Jim...just a bit.

Loved it though. First rate all the way around. I'll be buying the DVD next week when I have a little extra cash in the paycheck.

Great. The concept sketches mood really show up in the 3D feature.
Just 8 years hun... Reminds me of my teacher with 9 years in his 11 minutes drawn animation feature.
The whole website is very cool.
In the same time "A Star Wars trilogy, a Lord Of The Rings trilogy and a Harry Potter trilogy were made (not by me)." :D

Except if you read the making off, he doesn't have a whole lot good to say about LW.

Well... broken character rigs and issues with Dynamics aren't exactly news. Many have had frustrations with those implementations in LW for a long time, and Rebel Hills rigging tutorials were not avaliable at the time this movie was made.

I didnīt love the main character design, but everything else was top notch.

Congratulations for a wonderful short film.

This is GREAT work!

I would love to see Newtek showcase this guy. If you read the "Making Of" he's not too happy with the character tools. Would be interesting to find out if the latest tools solve some of the problems he had. Wonder if he's still using Lightwave?

Watched it... loved it... bought the DVD!

Only area that lacked everso slightly (i say ever so slightly, please dont kill me) was the story in my opinion... but that's being MEGA picky. Everything else was DAMN spot on... and the guy is clearly ridiculously talented! Love it, and love that he used Lightwave, it really does show what can be done. Just glad that it wasn't because of Lightwave that it took him 7 years :)

that guy needs a free 9.6 sending out to him pronto from NEWTEK to replace his 6.5b
just think what he could bring to the development for CORE...

I just discovered "The Passenger" short film yesterday, and like several others above, I wanted NewTek to know about the film's existence. It is truly a great short film and very inspirational for most of us who want to do something similar.

I want to order this DVD, but list of countries on that website is way too short...

Is there ANY alternative way to get it beside that chaos shop?

I'm surprised a lot of people haven't seen this already, this animated short has been out for a few years now. Its a short of unparalleled quality, that's for sure.

It's in the same article. It's short, but it's there. In it, Chris replies to forum questions.

Also, if you click the "Making of" link in the article (forth paragraph down), Chris provides his "How to Make a Seven Minute Film: In Eight Years" journal.
