View Full Version : Basic particle Edit tool questions

I'm using a cloud of particles as the basis for a FX link of a molecule lwo. I use edit tool to move particles taste. How do you save these edited particle positions? When I reload the file they've revert to their initial positions.

While we're on the topic. Am I right in observing that editing particle info under the properties of the emitter (ie spin) has no effect while the same edit on the FX linker works? To tweak the settings you need to delete the spawned geometry and re FX link with the new settings. Is this the correct/prefered workflow?

Finally, my needs are for a static cloud of particles. Is there a simple way to randomize the locations of the particle without introducing influences that create movement?

You save motion as a pfx file.
That is the correct workflow with particles though there
are other ways to achieve the same effect without using particles.

THX. It just seems odd that the geometry will remember the link when the file is reopened, yet adjustments to the motion requires a re FXlink.
