View Full Version : Stills from video clips

Here's a question I've been wondering how to do. How does a person get a still image from a video clip? Can I do that on the timeline? Any help is appreciated.

Easy. Move the cursor on the timeline to the point where you want the still. Then go to File (upper right), slide down to Render Still.

Use hotkey Ctrl-Shift-m to capture still from TimeLIne.

Or select Still from the normal Render panel...

Thanks, thought it might be easy, just hadn't figured it out yet.

Or, Double-click the video output window so it goes full screen, Control-Shift-PrintScreen, then alt-tab into Photoshop or Paint or some other picture program, then Paste & you have it.

Speededit uses the VGA primary layer to show video so you can use this function, as opposed to using the VGA overlay layer (like WMPlayer or most DVD player apps) which does not get captured into memory (you just get a black square, or green, or pink, or something other disappointing color)

Hope that makes sense.
