This is my first real winter in snow and at a 7000 foot altitude. My legs are itching like crazy! Is this normal for cold weather at high altitudes?

Never had that particular pleasure, but be careful. You seem to be someone that takes care of yourself well, so I'll just add that I lived in higher altitudes for a few years and noticed my health deteriorate. I have done research and there are many that say living in higher altitudes is beneficial. I didn't find this to be the case. Either way, it wouldn't hurt to be extra cautious. Ever since moving back to sea level, I've plateaued back to normal.

Could be the low humidity and cold. Ever use a humidifier? I have to use one some times because I start weezing from dry air. I do better in humid climates and my skin does feel better.

I don't know why I choose to share this with you, other than at that moment it was driving me crazy! Now that the can of cold, high altitude, itchy, hairy legs is open, and ideas on what to use to stop it?

As they say its probably just dry air.

1. Humidifier, not sure that these help much I used one for a while.
2. Skin moisturizer will cost less than option 3, if it works.
3. Lanacane is an anti itch cream I have used, there are others.

Oh, I had the privilege of living at -20 celsius for two months.... my a** was literally dried out and each visit to the bathroom was major PITA (again, literally). So, better get a humidifier and lots of warm underwear.
