View Full Version : Anyone having issues with the USB dongle and Windows 7?

I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and it reported that the "SafeNet USB SuperPro/UltraPro" driver would not work with Windows 7. Has anyone issues with their USB dongle drivers after upgrading to Windows 7?

I when to the SafeNet web site, there was no Windows 7 driver posted.

If this issued isn't address soon, a lot of LW users who upgrade to Windows 7 are really going to screwed!

Working perfect in Win 7 32 & 64 bit.

Both installations were clean, not update.

There's an issue with Win 7 and Vista caused by User Account Control, disable it and see if you have any more luck.

BTW Win7 is basically Vista 2, it uses the same drivers, so I can't see a problem with the driver itself.

Thanks for the info.

I had that problem: Win7 Ultimate 64 didn't recognize my dongle ('unknown Superpro USB device'). Not related to UAC since I have that completely disabled (and I'm running an Administrator account).

Running the sentinel installer manually did not yield any warnings about incompatibility but did not give any results either. Version 7.3.0.

For me the solution was going to Safenet site and download the latest driver - version 7.6.1 - now it works fine.

when i try to install lightwave 3d 8.5 on Win7 pro 64bit the installer keeps telling me:

"lightwave dongle not detected. please be sure the dongle is attached to the proper port before preceeding"

i've tried it on all my USB ports and i always get the same thing

In your device manager, do you see under 'Universal serial Bus Controllers' a 'Safenet USB SuperPro/UltraPro' entry?
