View Full Version : Weird Particle Phenoma

I'm having an issue with particles cascading.
Gravity is set for general falling. Then for the particles to go along the nearly horizontal chutes, I have regional gravity objects set up.
When the particles leave the regional gravity areas and cascade down, they form perfect rows, ribs, aligned waves (what have you).
The particles are acting quite randomly (which is what I need) otherwise. It just that when they leave the regional gravity areas, they fall in line.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks, Gordon

Have you randomised the particle weight and resistance?

Yep, that's what I ended up doing.
Worked like a champ.

I do think it's weird how the particles end up lining up like that though.

Well not really. Without randomising these fields, every particle has exactly the same weight and mass, so will be influenced by gravity and air in exactly the same way. This will lead to a uniform and consistent look - great if that what you need, but in your case, a more natural effect seems to be the order of the day. :)

Glad it worked.
