I am attempting to keep an object in its place from frame 5346 to 5572. I have tried doing this in Graph Editor. Is there another way or "easier" way to do this or is the Graph Editor the logical place to do this?

Try setting the keyframe in frames 5346, 5347, 5571, 5572.

The motion path is like a bezier curve. So , if you keep this mind and set points very close together you can make the curve resemble a sharp corner.

But the graph editor is your friend, you should really get used to it. Once you do, you will find it is actually very easy.

Good Luck

Or set the two keyframes for the duration that the object needs to stay put and adjust the tension to 1 at both keyframes or set the keyframes to linear.

Yes linear is the key. (literally). Lol. The bezial curve threw me off as well but linear will keep the bend from happening. One dissadvantage to the linear is if you are trying to create a natural motion, the bezial curve works better. At least from my experience.

I just want to clarify that yes the graph editor is the right place to do this. I was just answering the question of how to do it without going into the graph editor.
