As referenced in the VT[3] manual, you should set the refresh rate of your monitor to 60Hz, any nvidia should be able to handle that speed, also, any nvidia video card should be able to handle the video toaster [as it uses the same video as windows itself]

Get the nVidia GeForce FX 5600 since it provides the best overall performance and carries a 'reasonable' price tag.

ATI Radeon 9600 Pro is a good alternative as well.

Go for FireGL or Quadro FX if you have the eXtra.

by the way, the best "DUAL DISPLAY" card is obviously the Video Toaster (2000 or 4000 version) - you have PGM and PVW displays :)
