I should polish my reel, but this is so addicting...

Has anyone found nice items/ combinations /tricksin this game?
Some words that are in the game:
longcat, tacgnol, jetpack, pegasus (great vehicle), grappling hook, black hole (against enemies), leviathan, behemoth, giant enemy crab, all kinds of dinosaurs (you can feed the carnivores meat three times, then they sleep a bit and when they wake up, you can ride them), harpoon, atombomb (destroys everything), teleporter, time machine (both bring you to an alternate level), sniper (protects you)

If I have to block a crushing device or block a gate, but anything I try gets smashed under the weight, then there's always a cube of adamantium which does the job :)

Nuke and Plague are good, and don't write a vampire during daylight! :D If you play each level four times to get the gold star you can use adjectives to make separate words - hat, big hat, little hat, square hat are all the same, but make getting gold stars easier... ;)

I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive (shipped from Amazon a couple of days ago.) Can't wait.

I played Level 5's last game Drawn to Life, which was fun. That game asked you to design the sprites as you played along, and I drew my wife and other family critters as characters for it. It's pretty funny when their clothing gets blown off when they're attacked. (Not my intention; the game was just designed that way. Honestly, dear!) :)

Level 5's next game features cinematics from Studio Ghibli. Here's the link for the trailer:

The neat stuff is towards the end.

Not trying to tick anyone off, but that Level 5 game just looks like run-of-the-mill, poorly done anime. I know animation is hard, but with all the technology involved in this stuff, can't they do proper tweening?

Um, you do realize that this is a low-memory cartridge game playing on a Nintendo DS?

Or are you talking about Scribblenauts? Because I've never heard anybody describe Studio Ghibli's work as 'run-of-the-mill' and 'poorly done' before. :)

No, Scribblenauts looks awesome. I was talking about Ninokuni. Just follows a lot of other anime - well drawn, terribly animated. Just because the cheap studios do animation without proper tweening and it's become a "style" doesn't mean it looks any good.

Looking closer, the game screens actually look really good - it's the cinematics that lack.

Please, this is IMHO, not trying to pick on them.

Wow. I have to say it again, I've never heard Studio Ghibli referred to as a 'cheap studio'. Oh, well. :)

Anyway, if anybody's interested, here's an interesting article about how Studio Ghibli got involved with a DS game, which surprised a lot of people since Miyazaki has stated numerous times that he hates video games and thinks they're bad for kids.

In brief, it all came down to studio downtime. At least, it's nice to know there exist animation studios that try to keep their artists busy in between film productions instead of laying them off after every production like they do at most studios here in Los Angeles.
