View Full Version : Can Emitters use VMaps ?

Can Emitters use VMaps to controller where the particles come from? Also I'm using a mesh that has pointCache data file on it. Can a object use a pointcache modifier and still emitte particles? I've tried to add emitters to a point cache object, but I don't see any particles? :help:

I don't think so. This is probably because Texture Editor that you have in FX Emitter has not initialized vertices[] and weights[] parameters needed to get UV..
With simpler objects (not concave), perhaps it would be possible to make Spherical/Cylindrical UV map, paint it as you wish in Photoshop, but in FX Emitter pick up Projection Spherical/Cylindrical instead of UV.
