Hello guys I been using Lightwave for some time mostly modeling and some few animations as a hobbyist. I always here the term to freeze an object or to just freeze something..lol This is a stupid question, but what is the science behind freezing or its purpose, what have I been missing out on. I never had the option to freeze something or just did not know maybe I should have. Can some please explain the purpose or purposes for "Freeze" in modeler or Layout

In modeler to freeze an object is to convert it from sub-Ds to normal polygons. This gives you a higher-poly object that doesn't have the overhead of being sub-divided all the time.

Ctrl-d is the keyboard shortcut and the density of the mesh is based on the subpatch divisions settings in the general options.
