Just a quick post to mention some audio bargains (I'm not affiliated)

Imageline (flstudio) have good deals till the end of the month. I wanted the sytrus plugin about a year ago, price then was $179, I upgraded to the full XXL (Sytrus + more) package for $91 earlier this month. If you have the producer edition or are looking for a way in to a decent audio package, it might be worth a look.

Another find is Vocaloid 2 (Prima). Wasn't too impressed by Yamaha's early technology, but this is amazing. To see what this thing can do, here's some links...

More Modern (mid 20th century)

Here's the company selling it...

And here's the link to get it cheap...

There you go then, till the end of the month only, I can't speak for the vocaloid deal but the fl studio sale price is straight, they don't do deals too often.

Crikey, they kept that one quiet, I was still pondering downloading the 8.5 beta. Thanks art

amazing stuff!
Isn't it just. I remember a discussion on here a few years back on yamaha's vocaloid 1, it was good for occasional backing vocals but that was pretty much it. Another one worth a look is 'East West symphonic choirs'. It's a little like yamaha's offering in that you can type in what you want it to sing, sounds incredible.

Wow, the symphonic choir sounds amazing indeed. I've read somewhere that human sounds like this, including prima, are somewhat easier to simulate than regular singing voices and that's why they sound convincing.
The east west is a bit out of my price range right now :(, plus I wouldn't know how to compose with choir like this.
There is new string simulator from imageline ($99). I didn't have a chance to try it yet.
