Hi, here is an ad for the new cell phone service here in Israel. Character animation and camera movements was done in LW 9.6. Motion Builder 5.5 for the mocap. Backgrounds in Vue 7. Compositing in AE. Due to crazy deadline (we had 7 days! for all) we used purchased DAZ Victoria 4.2 model with some clothes set for the main character, also some ready made elements in the background from the Fantasy T-Pack for Vue. Phone model provided by Broadcast VFX.

Agency: Mccann Erricson Israel
Production: Time-Line Creative studio

Titles, sound: Broadcast VFX
Me - Design, rigging, texturing, character animation, lighting, camera animation, backgrounds
Rafael Jakob - AE compositing, backgrounds.

As i said all animation was done in 7 days by 2 people from scenes designs to final render ... I'll try to get better quality movie and post later, meanwhile i have only this MPG. Critics are welcome.

Yap ... 7 days, 36 hours work, 8 hours sleep and then the same, was one of the hardest weeks of my life.

Shalom. I can't see the animation just yet (Safari on iPhone doesn't support it), but the renders, lighting, etc look really good. Nice on those and withsuch a short turn around. I look toward to seeing the animation.

Alright, I had a chance to watch the animation now...Very solid stuff there, particularly for a 7 day turn around. Had a very Soul Calibur feel to it. And granted I don't speak or read Hebrew (I wish I did), what does this type of cinimatic, sword welding - arrow shooting warrior woman have to do with cell phone service? Can you explain a bit?

Oh , sorry , i didn't write it from the beginning, didn't thought that it's gonna be interesting :) ....
It's about new gaming service, you can continue play your computer game on cell phone (of course if your game have a cell phone copy :), the ad didn't say this small fact).
So free translation of this advert will be sound like this (each sentence is the new frame/scene) :

"She was fight with you against dark forces.
She saved you against "Dragon 15" .
She rescued with your the universe ...
And now she alone, because you ... You went to your grandma !
From today she and the games can continue with you...
Cellcom media presents: "Hoot",
Starting the game on the computer you can continue the game from the same point on "Cellcom"...

Cellcom - is one of the cell phone service providers here in Israel.
Hoot - from Hebrew is "Cord".
"Dragon 15" - nick name of some player (i know it's sounds stupid but this is agency idea and looks like they newer played online games).

... thank you for the good words, it's was nightmare to work on it, nearly each scene changed 2-3 times, but we did it !

Great work again!

I always forget how good that russian LW forum is (where you posted the video).

Google translate actually does a pretty good job, I'll have to have a look around there when I get the time ..


The galleries are REALLY impressive, be great if some of them posted more in the Finished section here ..

thanx :) just saw my post there with this translation :) the problem that we use some sort of comp/animation jargon so maybe half is not translated, but you can get the idea about that's going on there :) And yes some really good things posted there, really small community, lot's of people went to Modo, even we have half of the forum dedicated to Modo ...

How long did the average frame take to render?

The Vue backgrounds from 5 to 14 min for frame ...
Main character - depending on scene: first scene (archery) from 20 min to 2 hours (crazy i know, but that beautiful DOF was worth it), the rest from 5 to 15 min depending on distance to character and motion blur. All was rendered on mini farm with 10 quads (7 Q6600 and 3 Quad Xeon Macs running XP x64). Due to endless changes the render farm was rendering almost non stop all week.

7 days 2 men unbelievable, great success.
how long did the render take. As far as i can tell it s a high quality stuff, it must en take some time, was it renderfarm.

fire is maps i guess ??

Thanx guys, all was rendered on mini renderfarm (see my previous post), mocap used for the sword fighting scene and and running/jumping from screen to cellphone. Mocap clips edited on Motion Builder 5.5, fire is 2D, added in AE, but rendered in LW to get proper camera movements ... Particles used only on crying scene (leaves), clothFX for the handkerchief motion.
