Hello all. This is my first forum post and advice request. Please feel free to contribute in any way you can.

I have been teaching myself how to use Lightwave3D for a few years off and on and have only just started fiddling with hypervoxels and need a solution.

I have attached a scene I created without textures.

It basically looks like a segment of road with a drain. I have created a null that uses simple motion and sprites. Looking like steam venting.

The problem is that I need to apply some sort of collision detection so that the steam appears to vent from the drain, between the bars, but at the moment it simply travels through the bars and road.

If anyone can please have a look at the attached scene and submit a descriptive solution, I would be very grateful.

thankyou.

A. Use a volumetric light instead.
B. Use a texture map as a mask in the dissolve channel
to block out where the bars would be.
