Parent in place.

I looked everywhere but I cant find the definition or button for it. Could someone please explain what it is and where to access it?

Press 'Alt+F10' to bring up Menu Config, or goto Edit-Edit Menu Layout,
Click 'Search', enter 'parent in place'...
it should highlight 'Parent in Place On/Off'
Click 'Find' to see what menu it is under, if any.

You may want to move/drag it somewhere else in your menus.

When it is enabled, you parent or unparent something and that child will remain stationary in world space on the current keyframe only, regardless of the parent's position. Usually, this means you want to be on frame 0 and have no other keyframes on the child. Then I am in the habit of immediately disabling Parent in Place so I dont screw up a regular parenting operation later if I forget.
