Wow 80 views since yesterday and noone applauded you till now!!?

What the heck is it with the forums sometimes! Nothing but boring threads stay up and everything else falls down. And the ones that do stay up are barely done so!

Anyway. Thanks for the tuts Erikals. It would indeed be very valuable for me to go through them. Ill just have to take the issue with Chronos ;) . And Gods, especially Time Gods, arent much sympathetic these days.

Can those tuts work with AE7 or must it be the latest CS package?

hehe, that's allright, http://forums.cgsociety.org/images/smilies/smile.gif there's just a few of us that are superactive here, others just scoop through pages, pick up info, then move along. but hey, us hardcore users have more fun ;)

if they work with AE7, i don't know, but i bet they do, AE is cool like that, sort of like Photoshop,
good compatibility.

Give yourself a pat on the back, and get over it. ;)

Cheers Erikals, tho like some of those 80 (probably), I am not so experienced with AE or how valuable this is .. one for the bookmarks.

Thanks erikals!
I had to email this link to my home email address to check it out...
can't access this site from my office, IT blocks most sites that contain video content.

These are awesome! Thanks for sharing!

FPS = Frames Per Second

Lewis,
I think the question is: why that number?

Thanks for the links. I will be looking and learning.

that's cinema/movies FrameRate so it's standard in USA ;).

CC Rider

24fps is movie projector frame rate. 23.976 is 24p...cinema style for the video world...

Well i knew about the 24.
Not about the 23.976 equivelent to video.

But ok 29,970 / 23,976 = 1,25

I'm a PAL boy so i was not computing this =)

Thanks

Trapcode Particular works with AE7, so most of these tutorials should work.
Particular can create some hot effects:

Now when can LW 9.6.1 do this?

thanks for this heads up. Nice collection.

Video Copilot (from the first links) is a pretty good site to get up to speed with AE btw (for the people who didn't know that yet). Lots of very good free AE tutorials.

Thanks all :]

Now when can LW 9.6.1 do this?
i think it can do basically everything, the most tricky challenges would be the ones using a morphed displacement, other than that i think it should be pretty straight forward..

Particular is invaluable tool when it comes to production. We even have a guy here who specializes in in that "particular" matter.

I don't own AE but I'll bookmark those for future reference. But what I really wanted to ask is, is that you in your avatar, and if so, why is there someone called Lude (or something like that) floating around the fourms with your face edited to look like an angel playing some sort of trumpet (or smoking a bong) in heaven?

Curiosity has got the better of me.

Sorry to veer off topic here but can't find support anywhere else...

Anyone here ever use PFPro Motion Tracking software?
I was so impressed with that little video that I plunked down $200 and bought it. Not much support for this product and the forums are a ghost town, so no support there.
Problem is...
Motion tracks great in the program, but ground plane slips in all directions after opening the tracked project in LW.

Anyone have any experience with this?

sorry no, not unless it is a tracking problem itself,...
see video located here about how to do proper tracking,

I think the track itself is okay...it looks rock solid in the tracking app, but once I move it over to LW is when it starts slipping all around. Kept thinking maybe it was a frame rate issue but I can't figure it out.

Thanks for the link though...Cool resource to have just the same!

Thanks!

SynthEyes is what most use, twice the price though, but many good tutorials /many users

CC Rider

yeah, I've known about Syntheyes for a while...just never needed the capability enough to justify the money. This seemed so easy...and cheap.
I'm sure its something I'm doing wrong...I'll keep working on it.

Yes, thats me in the picture.
A couple of years back Odity got banned for the second/third time and he used Odity's picture in his avatar with some nasty aditions to it.
I made a remark about that to him, about it not being nice when Odity couldn't respond to it. He then changed his avatar to a picture of me being an angel. I see it as a compliment from him to me :D

Got my matchmove software to cooperate...instead of importing footage at 29.97, I exported the clip as a sequence then imported it...which PFHoe interprets as 24fps instead of 29.97.
Apparently, it likes dealing with 24fps much better because now my tracking shots stick like glue!
I'm so excited!

PFHoe Pro is the program...$200 and super easy to use...

I'll post in the gallery too...

Yeah, I know...I was just so anxious to see the if final shot would "lock" together I cut a few corners on texturing...just a test for fun.
A couple of other people mentioned the same thing though, so I went ahead and added some reflections to the table, some more spec to the model and changed the pose to account for the lack of landing gear.

same link...

I'm no compositing guru by any stretch but I am quite happy with the way the motion track process turned out!
like I said, just a little test for fun. (I used my still camera in video mode for the plate shot) Looking forward to having a project to use this process on soon!

Thanks for the comments.
If anyone decides they need to use this motion track software from PFHoe, make sure to use image sequence instead of video or else it won't work!

:D
