If I have a file bin with MPEG2's or mp3's (including ones encoded out of VT SE), VT will freeze up and crash.

If no such file bin is showing within the VT environment, VT does not crash.

Is this a known bug?

And no, this is not a new thing, and it has continued for me even after the uninstall/reinstall referenced in my adjacent thread about VT keyboard commands.

It sounds like one clip is corrupted. I would first delete the Newtek info folder which clears the thumbnails. Seperate the clips by source and try them one by one in VT.

I'll answer both this thread and the one above here.

Turns out that the crashes were related to access conflicts with aac_parser.ax

I think this was either Handbrake or iTunes. Not sure.

Glad you reported back, with this pertinent info about your MPEG2 / MP3 system crash scenario.
:)

So, what was the fix for this, Tmon?

We removed some software that might have had a conflict.

I didn't narrow down the specific culprit, though we suspect iTunes or DivX, both of which were uninstalled.
