Does anyone have a plugin or know of a good way in which to control multiple lights in a scene.
For instance, I have an opera house scene with about 30 point lights. I want them all to dim at the same time (i.e house lights go down).
It's a pain to have to dim them individually, surely there is some way to establish a master controller over all the lights.

cheers

p.s. dont say just turn down Global illumination.

Simple expression tied to a slider?

In the Graph editor, Channel follow tied to intensity. Yes, you should be able to apply it to a slider.

It correllates to a real world "patch" where you assign multiple dimmer channels to single "handle" on a lighting console.

Alternatively, just use the Scene Editor?

I find making a selection set in the scene editor works the best for me.

You can also create a different type of selection set in the list manager but I have found it isn't very reliable and is a bit buggy.

If you select all 30 inthe Scene Editor, the adjustmes in the Properties panel affects them all.

...or you can just do it in the Scene Editor directly, by selecting the lights and choosing properties, and dragging the values up and down, setting key frames for them and so on. No need for selection sets (although nice if you want to select specific lights) no need to go into Light Properties.

Thanks for the suggestions....In the end I had to build my own lighting rig because I needed to be able to control just about every aspect of the lights from lense flare right through to cone angle.
I've attached all of these attributes to a slider that enables global control and quick and easy key framing. If I want to add more lights, all I do is clone the existing ones, and change them to point or spots whatever.
Anyway if anyone wants it you can download it from the link below (its at the bottom of the blog page)
