Hi folks,

I have had a contact approach me about outputting 3D animation to OpenGL. I know that OpenGL is a technology to display 3D graphics but I am not familiar with using it as an output format. Is this something that can be done in Lightwave? Any hints, tips, help, suggestion or smart @ss comments are greatly appreciated. :D

Thanks in advance.

Well, openGL is an API, a programming interface, not a file format.
Which means that you need some code to read your file and to display it using openGL.
There's a few toolkits out there that use OpenGL to display meshes and can read LW files, http://www.openscenegraph.org being one of them.
It still takes a bit of coding to turn it into anything useful.

Cheers,
Mike
