View Full Version : Rigging high-res character speed

I'm rigging a pretty high-res character in LW and it's crawling. Like a dead snail.

My character mesh is about 62k and I have a full body rig. I'm on my laptop right now, as opposed to the Mac Pro at work, but normally I don't think it's supposed to go this slow (2-3 fps). When I pull the model into modo to do sculpting it works perfectly fast.

Is there anything at all I can do to make LW handle this baby better?

do a poly reduction, rig it, then export the rig, then load up the hi res, and import the rig.. :)

Use a standin to animate with and the higher res version to check deformations.
The two tasks should be handled separately. When you try and combine animating with deformations things dont move quickly.
Youll see lots of footage where ppl do this in other apps as well.
