View Full Version : particles to add pins to map with 'ploop' sound effect?

I need to create a small segment where I add green pins to a map of the U.S. that shows the state outlines.

Each time a pin is added, a 'ploop' sound effect would occur.

They would be dispersed randomly with the frequency rapidly increasing until the whole map is green.

Any thoughts/tips on how to best accomplish this?

Make the map a particle emitter. Set an envelop on the birthrate of the particles and then fx link the pin object to the particle emitter.

Larry - is there a way to have it emit a sound as it emits a particle?

You cant generate sounds in LW. There are/is a 3rd party plugin I remember that does do something like that maybe, possibly. I would check here:
http://www.lwplugindb.com/
or
www.flay.com
or

Larry - I didn't want to generate (as in create a new sound), just play an existing wav file.

Or, is that what you mean by 'generate'?

Thats what I meant. LW might also be able to trigger midi events with some plugins. :)
