Hi all

can anybody advise me regarding the best way to get a solidworks model into lightwave please? hopefully not triangulated if possible!:help:

Matt the tutorial was absolutely excellent - I'm requesting STL and IGES formats from my client, I think the IGES to MOI option looks to be the best way. Do you know if the MOI 30 day demo lets you export OBJ files? (This may be a small one off project so Im trying to keep my costs down)

Regarding MOI demo, I'm not sure actually, I bought it a while ago, best to just download it and try.

MoI is a great way to do this. It's also a fantastic modeler so well worth getting anyway. The meshing system from IGES to LW is really good. Best I've seen.

It is, it would be awesome if it could mesh to all quads perfectly, that seems to be the holy grail meshing wise!

You can mesh to all quads with plenty of adjustment. What are the quads not doing for you?

Also, the new beta has a much faster mesh generator. If you haven't tried it already it's worth a try.

Cool, will give it a try.

What I meant was MOI can't mesh to _only_ quads, just quads and triangles. If it could mesh to quads as if you've modelling it yourself, it would be cool, but that would be a big ask!
