View Full Version : converting unwrapped UVs to Morph

Is there some way to get the flat unwrapped UV position converted to geometry ( a morph target)? So I would then have a flat version of my model...

Use UV to Morph.http://www.newtek.com/forums/showpost.php?p=16961&postcount=4

It's easy, just activate the Lscript, select the UV and click ok. UVMorphMap is the name of the Morph you just created. Notice that this will break the model over the seams. You will not be able to merge the points until you delete the morph.

One more thing, sometimes i find out that the morph i created is useless, i cant use it in Layout or input it in Morph operations in Modeler. To make the UVMorphMap into a usable one:
-Make a copy of the object to another layer. Back in the first layer select the UVMorphMap in Morph Menu and in Map Tab>General>Clear Map.
-Put the copy in the background and go to Map Tab>Morph>Bkg to Morph.

There you go. You can use it now.

PS: I use UV to Morph also to calculate the UV coverage percentage with AreaVolume (http://home.comcast.net/~erniew/getstuff/areavol.html) :)
