When your 14 mm lens just isnít wide enough! Or if you stuffed up & you are scrounging for every last pixel. This tiny bit of software is really simple and the extra pixels are very usable.

hmm...sounds interesting, I'd be intregued to know whether it actually has any benefits in practice or is just a tool to do something for the sake of it. If you're only gaining 100 pixels or so on a 10-15mp image I couldn't see the point in taking the extra step.

It's only a few extra pixels, but I have stuffed up a couple of times and had to rebuild the edge of a photo to gain some more pixels.

Also if one is re-mapping a photo you loose a few pixels so a few extra might help if one was a bit short to start with.

On my 5D2 5616 x 3744 to 5634 x 3752 (9 per side & 4 top & bottom)

There are those unfortunate situations when one will do anything for a bit more information.

Image attached, up to & including the red line is a crop from a 14 mm 5616 x 3744 & to the left is the 9 extra pixels.

I got the impression that it's aimed more at consumer point-and-shoot's although I doubt that the average consumer would bother using such a tool.

I wonder whether it would work with video stills taken with the 500d(T1i) and 5d mk2?...I'm not sure how the video sensor works but it's obviously cropping quite a lot somehow...I might contact them to see whether it's possible.

[EDIT]...although I guess the video gets processed before being output so you'd lose the RAW information.
