I read a thread awhile back regarding the problem of beveling text
and the corners overlapping.

So far I have only found ONE real lightwave based solution.
A plugin called Bevel ++

This plugin is in quiet old now, and I am required to pay in YEN.

Is the any other bevel tool or plugin that can bevel and merge points during
this operation to avoid points overlapping.

This seems like a critical feature that needs to go into lightwave modeler.

You don't have to pay Yen for Bevel++, you can buy it in other currency. I live in the UK and bought it no problem.

Point to note though, even Bevel++ will go 'over' if pushed, sometimes, you just have to do some manual welding.

yep!

(no yen, PayPal will convert it for you, just use Visa or such as you usually do, cost about $35)
(demo worked in 9.6, so ordered the full version, we'll see...) ;)

(tested it, looks to work good in 9.6) ;)

well, should be part of Core, at least.

wasn't too keen on paying $35-40 for this, but i need it, so...
