I'm glad the Color Matching and 64 bit mac build are working well.

Here's a couple new things. Attached is a preview of a new feature being added to Jovian's Library: Entry moving and sorting.

Also attached is a library file based on the Testors colors that Riff posted. The posted pdf was protected and prevented copying, so long story short: Packet Sniffer->.xml file->MS Access 2003->.xls->Excel, ending up with a simple copy and paste to create a Picky formatted .ini file (which Jovian can import just fine).

The library only covers the named Testors colors and doesn't include the FS numbers. I can build another library if needed, it would just take a reworking of the spreadsheet (which I'm actually working with in Open Office Calc instead of Excel).

One of the colors in the library is named: Canadian Voodoo Gray. I'll be using that as the next special project name.

    Loving your work Ken!

P.S. I need to update the manual still!

P.P.S. Maybe I should do a video "overview" like I promised!

    Coolness on the sorting thing.

I remember when i first used Picky - it was the best, though it took a bit of getting used to, what with all those extra windows it can open.

Today, I had to do some work on another machine. I went to choose a color & I didn't have Jovian. What opened instead made me groan, "WTF is this? Crap!"

It was Picky. It's amazing how quickly some things can become essential, and how other essential things can become crap when ousted by a better essential.

Even worse, how any _3D_ app can use the default OS picker is beyond me. I was very disappointed that modo didn't have a cool picker to match the UI (and no, modo's own picker is not any better).

I hope they sort that at some point, why spend all that time on a cool UI to stop short on something you use as much as a colour picker, I don't understand it!

Just bought it too! Great tool.

Hope you have CORE and it's SDK to bring Jovian onto it when it's released.

I did as much research on the requested Testors colors as I could, and posted the results. I was unable to convert the pdf to a genuine spreadsheet format. DuneBoy took the baton and finished that event.

DuneBoy: Congratulations, Jovian has gone where none have been. . . especially with the search function. In my opinion, it is the first color sniffer. I don't believe the users of other programs fully realize what can be accomplished with color selection.

    Thanks.

I'm ready and willing, it just depends on the proper functionality being available in the CORE SDK.

But given that there is such a thing as a windows default colour picker, is it possible to replace that with this one, (or a different on in general?).

A good colour picker like this would be VERY useful in every graphics application, not just Lightwave...
From the sounds of these, it should be possible...

Nope, they are just colour picker apps.

I did a looooong search once to find one that hooks the Windows one so that it pops up in all apps, couldn't find one.

I just re-thought the issue and I think I may have come up a solution for over-riding the horrible Windows color picker. I would need to write a proof of concept first, and if it worked I'd then need to re-build Jovian's interface so it's not tied to the LW API.

I won't make the same promise but for sure I'll be more than happy to have Jovian instead of the Windows crap !
