    Streaming to Twitch

    Hi all,

Our organization might start using Twitch as our new streaming platform. Has anyone successfully streamed to Twitch from a tricaster? From what I've read it's as simple as getting the RTMP URL and the stream ID and you're good. I've never used Twitch before. Is it that easy?

    Thanks,

    Bobby Blankenship

    Hi Bobby,

Our Advanced Edition and TC1/VMC1 Software has a direct connection to Twitch using their API so no need to rely on RTMP. It's really as simple as logging into your account on the TriCaster and hitting the stream button.

AE on a Tricaster makes it so easy to stream to Twitch. One day I was stuck, 2 minutes to show time and our service was down. One click on the Tricaster to go live on Twitch and an iframe on our webpage and it was golden.
If you'll be streaming live gameplay, you might need to tweak the settings. When we streamed live esports tournaments to Twitch on our T40 v1, I had to write a custom streaming profile so it looked good.

We used to use the RTMP Connection method direct to Twitch for a weekly show. We have switched to restream.io for it in the recent past though so we can push to multiple platforms on their bandwidth.

I just streamed to them yesterday for a client using AE Twitch stream plug-in. Worked perfectly

Twitch is a great platform, especially if you want 1080 60P streaming.
