    Update Problems

I have the Tricaster 410 Advanced Edition, and when I tried to update I ran out of room on the C drive so it did not complete. I think it was in the downloading phase. I not only selected the Tricaster update but also the "Content", which I guess I need to eliminate. Where did the files download to so I can delete them and just go with the Tricaster update? What is the content by the way?

Also, I selected edition 2. What is the difference between 1 and 2?

    Thank you!

    Caleb

    Hi Caleb,

I usually download updates on another PC, but they go to C:\TriCaster Build

AE 1 is the version that first came out. Later on, MAJOR changes were made to AE and that became AE 2. The AE 1 version is no longer seeing updates, so most folks are going to be using AE 2 now, though it is just called Advanced Edition without any "2" on the downloads page - https://www.newtek.com/downloads/#tricaster

    Latest AE download is 5-1-171027

Content is sample videos and still images and such, which most everyone should already have and will not need to update (it's a large download). When you get to the download step that lists all the parts available for download, the parts do have dates next to them so you know when last changes were made to that content.

    Thanks

Thanks for responding Jeff! I found c:\Tricaster Build but there are no files in there. I just have 3 GB left on the C drive. Any other possible location? Yes, the content is huge. What kinds of still images? lower thirds or such?

3Gigs left? You might want to off-load some things just from an operational point of view and system stability.

Yes, I don't know what you've been putting on the C: drive but you should have a lot more free space available. Not a good idea to store any video or stuff like that on C: since doing a RESTORE you would lose it all. Keep the C: drive lean and clean, just for OS and Newtek software as it was meant.

    Thanks

Hmmm. I did not intentionally put any files on the C drive. I'll have to check to see what might have happened. Does anyone know where the downloaded files might have gone to.? They're not in tricaster build.

Download probably aborted since not enough room so that is why the folder is empty. Possible there is something in a Windows TEMP folder from the failed download, not sure how to easily find though.

I found that there was 17 GB of LivestreamProcaster files that was saved by default I believe to the c:/Users/Tricaster/My Videos folder. I am hoping that will help if I delete it. The total drive is 90 GB. I'll have to see if I can make the livestream files save elsewhere and delete them occassionally.

    Thank you!
