LW 10.1 and Sierra; inconsistent crashes.

Both Modeler and Layout are crashing a lot with Sierra OS X 10.12.3.
Quiting and restoring Hub seems to help reduce the crash frequency a bit.

Did notice that tool bar menus tend to be “sticky” and don’t disappear after
selection of a menu item…usually followed by a crash.

Please note that I did not re-install LW when I upgraded to Sierra.
That may be my only option.

If someone has a better idea, please let me know??

    Thanks

Layout seems to be the problem...reinstalled LW and the problem continues.

Are the crash reports each time showing the same crashed thread in approximately the same call stack region?

I'm having the same problem Mac OS with 10.11.16. Layout would crash unexpectedly immediately after launch. I was still able to work with Modeler without issue until the last system update I think. I ended up working around the Layout crash by booting into 10.6.8.

I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling Lightwave, but the ‘unexpected’ crash occurs every time I try to enter the license via the Help menu. In the Problem Report from an attempt I made yesterday and today, it looks like the processes and exception types are different.

This is on a Mac Pro mid 2010 2.8 Ghz Quad core with 18 GB and an ATI 5770.

Where would I put the license.key file if I wanted to bypass entering it via Layout? Any thoughts on how I can resolve the unexpected errors, other than learning to expect them?

    Thank you

I'm curious how many people are having crashes with Sierra? I was on the verge of upgrading, saw this and stopped. Fingers crossed this is resolved soon for everyone.

I just started using Sierra this past weekend, and completed a short render project in Lightwave 2015.3 on Monday. With the exception of a fatal node image filter crash (which, working gingerly with preview turned off, is working now), it seems like everything is mostly ok. A few minor glitches here and there, but nothing I can quite remember (actual crashes have been few and far between, no worse than previous versions of the OS/LW). The image filter node editor crash happened in previous version too, so I don't think it's anything specific to Sierra.

However, I did a completely fresh installation of 10.12.3 on a blank hard drive, and installed all apps fresh as well (brand new downloads and everything). I've also not been testing LW 10.1. Your mileage may vary.
