Got the new Mann locking tuners in place. Drop-in replacement except the button shafts were a wee thinner so I had to shim them to make the ebony buttons fit. Easy peasy.

I re-strung with some Black Beauties for no better reason than I wanted to commemorate the (probably) final incarnation of Angry Angel with some matching stringware. If I don't like the tone I'll swap them out for my usual D'Addarios soon enough.

To quote my tattoo artists apprentice,

    "That is sick gurl"

Freakin' cool, I was wondering about the black beauties, I have an Ibanez BTB that I was contemplating restringing with black beauties.

Coming from an artist I'll take that as high praise.

I'm not a big fan of the feel of the coated strings but they do sound good. Not quite as bright as my nickel wound D'Addarios but for crunchy stuff that doesn't matter as much. I'll leave them on until they run their course then I'll probably switch back to my regular brand. I got the BBs as a visual lark, not as a serious audition to change brands.

Heh. So, I've become a complete PRS whore.

The Grande Dame is a monster of a dreadnaught and I've long wanted an orchestra or smaller body for travel and noodling around on. Just ordered one of these today, arrives by FedEx on Wednesday. Angelus A10E, solid mahogany with rosewood trimmings and an active piezo pickup in the saddle.

I'm stunned by how good playing thing thing feels. Where has it been all my life?
