Can we play local media files on VMC IN module?

    Hi

We just received our unit and its fantastic! except one question...I was under the impression we could play media, like in connect pro.

The add media button is missing from the input drop down.

The IN module is similar to Connect Pro but isn't' exactly the same. There are a few features one has the other doesn't. Local media playback is one of those differences, the other big difference is that the IN module supports recording where Connect Pro does not.

Oh okay.. thanks Kane. I'm glad we are installing Connect Pro on a studio computer as well. I like the recording...just hooked up a 4TB g-tech drive and everything is super smooth.

is there an in module and out module that can be used in a network with a few tricaster mini AE's?

I guess I'm just trying to get some straight answers on what the options are for modules. I'm hoping for modules vs. a PC with connect pro and capture/output cards.

I need to take several (up to 95) SDI PTZ Optcis cameras and feed them into an input module for access by roaming Tricaster Mini's loaded with advanced edition. But I'm also hoping for the ability to send NDI sources out to SDI (apart form the Tricaster outputs themselves).

I was told to go with SDI from the cams for mutlicam coverage as the streams won't sync up properly.

The IP Series INPUT and OUTPUT modules will work with TriCaster systems. Each of these modules will handle 4 sources.

There are no options of these units. When you purchase, they are turn key and ready to go. The IP Series modules support 3G-SDI, however, TriCaster is not a 3G capable system, so it only only use sources up to 1080p/30 with these systems.

Once the sources are in NDI format, the network becomes your 'router' and you can choose any many NDI sources into your TriCaster supports (up to 8 on a Mini with AE2). TriCaster Mini with AE2 supports up to 4 outputs via NDI (two of which are shared with the physical outputs on the unit), so you can send these signals to IP Series OUTPUT modules and convert them back into SDI.

Only the overlay channel supports playback of video files.
