I didn't know you could do that! (aka Nudge text in title templates)

    You learn something new everyday!

In speaking with one of the TriCaster developers today, I was informed that you can move the text in a TriCaster title template! I always though that you had to go into LiveText/Graphics to do that.

    1. Select the text, then click off it is so that that the text has a yellow box around it but you aren't trying to edit the text.

    2. How hold down the ALT key and use the arrow keys to nudge the title one pixel, or hold down SHIFT+ALT with the arrow keys to nudge 5 pixels at a time.

    3. Not sure how far back in software versions this trick goes, but I'm told it probably works in older versions (not just AE2).

    Nice little trick!

    Thanks Kane!

Might I suggest a sticky thread with little known tips like this. Not to overshadow the "Tip Jar" blog entries but quick little-known things like this. I've got a couple to put up if we do it ... ? Of course, it would come under the "Tips and Tricks" group heading but be for little quickies like this.

    Cheers!

Wow! I'm going to try this right now!

Btw, the Facebook link doesn't work for me. It just says:

Sorry, this content isn't available right now

It works in Adv Ed 1! That's so awesome. We've wanted to nudge text soooo many times during live shows. How is this not in the user guide??

Sad to say, this does not work in my non-AE 460. Oh well.

Any chance is there a way to add a custom slide to title templates?

You want the titles to slide in and out, unless you mean something more custom than that? Use a transition, the 'trajectories' category has slides for all directions. Otherwise, it would be possible to build your own transitions to apply to titles.

By looking at the video I tried, it's working well. Thank you, Kane.
